Terry E. Nish, 80, passed away
July 6, 2018.
Terry was a fixture in the Utah auto racing and business community.
Everything Terry did he did with undeniable passion, with no restrictions
he forged forward with a no holds barred attitude. That passion extended
into several areas of Terry's life. Although, Terry had a multitude
of accomplishments these are some of his fondest. On multiple occasions,
he was the captain of the United States Sprint Car team in South Africa;
as a result, he touched many people's lives all over the world. He was
proud to be a member of the Utah Sports Hall of Fame, Dry Lake Racing
Hall of Fame, West High School Hall of Fame, a member of the famed Bonneville
200 Mile per Hour Club and 300 Mile per Hour Chapter and a former SLVRA
Sprint Car Champion. Terry's legacy was passed to his sons Mike, Jeff,
and TJ who raced sprint cars, midgets, Indy cars and set multiple land
speed records making the Nish family the "Worlds Fastest Family".
All three sons and one grandson have joined him in the Bonneville 200
mph club. His grandchildren have carried Terry's devotion, work ethic
and competitive spirit into their pursued interests.
